MERCHANDISE EXECUTIVE – RETAIL

OVERALL PURPOSE:
- To maximise sales and ROI through the sourcing and procurement of merchandise at the best prices relative to the company’s strategic position.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- To head the Buying department and provide support to other departments in the division
- As a member of the senior management team, influence the broad strategic direction and profitability of the Company through effective analysis of the business.
- To ensure the strategic growth of the company.
- Enforcement and improvement of merchandise procedures and controls.
- To evolve effective strategies and make tactical decisions for sound merchandise performance.
- Expenditure management and budgetary control.
- Effective staff training and development.
- To implement and monitor the development of the buying staff through proper training, both on- the- job and specific skill training.
REQUIREMENTS
- Tertiary qualification
- 5-10 years merchandise experience in a similar retail environment, 2-3 of which have been in senior management.
- Advanced computer literacy
